Short Film Corner, 2012 Cannes Film Festival
"Parallax" has been registered with the Cannes Film Festival's "Short Film Corner," which is not a competition (Cannes competitions shorts must be under 15 minutes) but rather a "market" for short films. Even though it's not a competition, a film still must make the grade to be selected for Short Film Corner. Simply paying your registration fee does not guarantee inclusion. But, "Parallax" is definitely in.
I would argue that the last film I sent to Short Film Corner, "Stabbing Stupidity," is one of my two most successful short films to date. As a result of appearing in the 2007 edition of Short Film Corner, "Stabbing Stupidity" got picked up for distribution by a European television channel and was invited to a number of international film festivals, including one in Italy just last year. The Short Film Corner imprint can definitely assist "Parallax" in getting out to a wider audience.
